The 2021 MacBook pro 16inch model can fast charge with the 140W brick using the USB-C to MacSafe cable because it's USB-C 3.1. Is there any combination of bricks and cables that will fast charge my 16" 2019 MacBook Pro? The Apple tech support chat guy said the 140W brick with a USB-C cable would fast charge my machine, but idk if that's true...

The version of the USB-C spec on the 2019 MBP only supports 100w.

It will only fast charge using magsafe. USB-C is limited to 100W and will not fast charge.

I would argue that 100W is still a fast charge. Faster than any previous Mac notebook.

But it isn't a 'Fast Charge' in the marketing sense.
