Can I forward text messages?

Hi guys.

Got a iPhone 7 for work and I hate having 2 phones so simply going to use call forwarding to my own phone however can I also forward text messages? I have an iPhone X.

My work phone is not signed in to any Apple ID yet but I can sign that in to my ID if that will make it work but I do need all messages to come through and not just iMessages.


Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

If you sign in with your iCloud iD on both the phones you should be able to receive iMessage and also use text forwarding but personally I don’t think mixing business and personal phones is a good idea. Keep personal and professional life separate I say.

Yes I have for the past week but tbh, it’s more of a pain in the ass having 2 phones. I have to be accessible by phone 24/7 so tbh, can’t see any real negative in having them joined like this. Worst case I can always sign out of my work phone if that’s how I do it.

iMessages coming through straight away but normal sms messages are not?

I have text forwarding set on the phone I want them sent from and have the correct device set that I want them sent too.
On the device I want to receive them this is the settings

iMessages are fine but not sms. Damn it, merged the post lol

If both the phones are turned on then it should work.
