Can I gift an app using my current iTunes balance?

I have redeemed an iTunes Gift Card recently. I was wondering if I gift an app to someone, will it deduct the cost from my App Store balance, or from my Credit Card?

From your credit card. iTunes gift cards cannot be used to gift apps.
