You'd need to setup your email with your provider though. GoDaddy and other big domain sellers provide you with a basic webservice that includes email usually. Consult your service aggreement.

I'm with 1&1 and, you're right, it does come with an email forwarding thing, but because I've linked the web address to MobileMe, it doesn't work.

"Linked" as in "DNS points to your MobileMe site"?
You need to ask your DNS operator to keep the MX of your domain pointing to the mailserver you were using.
