Hi Guys,

I have a camcorder with mini DVD...can i play this on the MBP? I am afraid it get trapped in there not being sure it is "size compatible". On other PC you have the mini DVD shape where you can be sure it fits...

Does it fit MBP?
Thx

Thanks...it really suck...Appl is really behind then knowing the number of camcorder with mini disc...it is more and more popular...a disc loadin slot is maybe nice and fancy but quite useless sometimes...

Camcorders with mini DVDs are useless if you want to actually edit the video though - Apple are pushing the hard drive camcorders now. I don't think mini-DVD camcorders will be popular as long as the DV tape ones were now that the encoding on the hard drive ones is getting better and they're so much easier to stream/delete from.

And slot-loading is easier on a laptop than having a drawer which needs room in a perhaps cramped space.

Agreed. My parents have one and routinely ask me to make videos to put on their web site and they have to wait until they've filled the dvd up so they can finalize it, then I can rip it and do whatever I need to do with it. Couple that with the fact that they got a low-end one and the interlaced video just looks horrible even on the camcorder itself. Definitely not DVD quality video IMHO. Granted ripping it doesn't take too long, it's just a step that would be nice not to have to do.
