Can I install 16GB in my 2.93 GHz iMac

Hey I just got a new iMac, and I can't figure out how to get the stock RAM out! its 2 sticks of 2G and I want to replace them with 4 x 4G. I have pulled on the black tabs but nothing happens! Help!!!!

hi, i'm also in the same boat, but i'm curious whether installing before the apple care term has expired will void the warranty on the machine. i've heard it could when upgrading the HDD, but I honestly can't find where I read that so I'm clueless.

How to install RAM for 27" iMac

Upgrading RAM does not void your warranty unless you break something while doing it. Obviously, the self-installed RAM is not covered by Apple but most manufacturers give lifetime warranty to their RAM
