Hi all,

there's the game "Puyo Puyo Fever Touch" that was only released in Japan's App Store. (http://sega.jp/kt/apple/puyofever/)
Now, I was wondering, if someone in Japan could buy and download it for me and send me the file and I would install it.
Would that work?

I'd really love to have this game!

Thanks! :)

I would think not that would be like file sharing and :apple: wouldnt agree to that as it would hit their profits

Why would it be like file sharing? Not at all! I would ask somebody in Japan to buy it for me, and send me the app without this person using it too. I'm not at all interested in pirating it. It's just a matter of unavailability of this app outside of Japan.

I am wondering if there are any technical restrictions that will hinder me from doing that?

you can make an account for the japan store. :)

log into the japan itunes store and create an account. then, search the store and purchase what you want.

If your "friend" purchases it, you can get the .app from them, but then you would have to input their password each time you install it to your phone/do an update.

Okay, the password thing is an issue.
But I can't create an account in Japan without Japanese billing address/credit card, right?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have the same problem.

I want to download some free applications and other payment from the Japanese store. Does anyone know how I can do?

Hey,

You can create new account at Apple Store which are for this Japanies Apps. then you can install It from any where in the world. If any error you will get please share with us, so other people may know about that error.

Cheers:)

Actually, there is a trick to overcome the Japanese credit card issue and it works best if you have a friend who is physically in Japan.
You can create a Japanese iTunes account if your friend tells you his address (any Japanese address works though) and buy for you an iTunes Gift Card which only works for the Japan AppStore. You just need the code in the back and not the actual card. You can then purchase apps using the money from the iTunes gift card.
The account will be yours and you will be able to update the applications you have purchased using this account. It's a whole new world in the Japanese AppStore, so give it a try :)

Can I install apps from other country's iTunes App Store?

By upgrade, does that mean no app updates once you switch countries?

If so, I don't see the purpose of switching rather than creating a new account if you can't use any of your old content.

What a hassle.

Sorry to kick again this really old topic but I've also tried to create a Japanese account by failed to do so. For my also the reason was to get the official two Puyo Puyo games (here and here) in the App Store that are only available in Japan unfortunately. The alternatives available in my country are not the same and since Sega didn't update their international SEGA Columns Deluxe with Puyo Pop and even though I bought it at the time I can no longer download it from my purchased items (if it would even still work on iOS14).

The only options I have now to play it is on my Wii for which I still have an old Gamecube version of Puyo Puyo.
