Can I install my sony laptop windows xp on other machine? Because my Vaio is dead, and I still want to use the OS without buy a new one. Is that possible?

From what I understand (my hubby had one) VAIO's don't come with any CD's etc as they have a hidden partition you can reformat with, so if your VAIO is dead I'd say you can't. I think it's also illegal to do that so best thing would be to just purchase a copy of Windows to put on your Mac

I know that sony vaio's nowadays come with recovery discs, not windows discs. Recovery discs are basically proprietary sony discs that will make a new image onto your hard drive of the factory hard drive software that was on it READ: Sony bloatware + windows - NOT a windows install disc
