Can i Jailbreak iphone 3g 3.1.3?

my two friends both have iphone 3g 3.1.3 and they want to jailbreak them. (use att no need unlocked)
anyway 1 guy is the brand new iphone 3.1.3 just bought 2 weeks ago
the other guy bought from around november of 2008

they are both 3.1.3 and never jailbreak before

The both accomplish the same thing at the end.
Pwnage is for Macs only and redsnow has both mac and windows version.
