I don't want to leave bluetooth on and have the phone broadcast to every bluetooth receiver it finds. Can I link it my new stereo for phone and text capabilities and not have to turn bluetooth off when not in the car?
Your bluetooth won't connect to anything unless it is "paired" with that device.
Also, remember that leaving the bluetooth on all the time, even when you are not connected to anything, still uses power, and will result in less battery life.

Thank you. I never use it, so I forgot about having to pair. I just don't want any of my stuff available to computers or other devices capable of receiving the signal it transmits.
edit - to clarify for me - would I have to 'agree' to pair if another device could see my phone?
