The backups of my iPad are taking up half of my Mac's hard drive. Can i move the older backups to an external drive? When i googled it the results are for how to make all your future backups go straight to the external, but that's not what i want.

Can i just drag n drop the ipad backup folders to an external drive, and then move them back to their original location if i want to restore from them?

Also would i still be able to make new backups without having to put the older ones back onto my Mac first?

Are you able to overwrite the older backups?
