I was thinking I'd heard I could do that...or repartition the drive and move the files over or something like that. I'd love to just move it from my MacBook to the new MacBook Pro rather than have to go through the whole installation process for Windows again. Has anyone done this? Anyone have any tips?

Thanks!

Are you using boot camp or just parallels?

If it's just parallels then ou can shut down the virtual machine, and just copy the disk file(s) over to whereever you need them. Change the hard drive setting in Parallels to point to the new location.

If you are using boot camp it's probably better to do a clean install.

If you have Windows installed under Boot Camp, Winclone will do it, but you may have problems with device drivers and you'll need to re-activate anyhow.

Frankly, a clean install is a far better idea.

As the other poster said, however, if you have Win installed on a virtual drive, you can just copy that over and you're done.
