All iPads Can I pair my IPad with my Iphone, like my watch? Battery display etc.

Hi All,

I was hoping for more integration of my Ipad with my IPhone. Am I missing a setting somewhere?


Integration Examples wanted:

Pretty much the same as my Apple Watch to my iphone:

1. Battery status shown on both IPhone and Ipad for both. So I know when ipad is fully charged and can be taken off the charger Etc.
- When I hotspot onto the phone, I see the battery indicator for the phone on the ipad?! In the WIFI settings page?! Why can I not get it on the notification page etc.

2. Apps data linking, like MultiTimer. This App’s data is paired Ok between the watch and the iphone.
Etc.
etc.


Hope you guys can advise

Would the iOS 14 battery widget serve that purpose?

You can’t pair your iPad to your iPhone. That is why it doesn’t show in the battery widget on your iPhone.

Is it supposed to show other devices that are not accessories? That isn’t my expectation at least, but not sure if it can.

With all this tech, be good if Apple does work on integration more on their hardware.

Nope. I have the beta 4, the widget doesn’t show my iPad battery status. I hope it’s a bug.

Are you talking about the widget on the iPad not showing your ipad battery status, or the iPhone widget not showing ipad status? If the former, you are experiencing a bug as it shows to me.

The iPhone widget isn’t showing the iPad battery status. Is that a bug or intentional?

That is intentional because the iPad can’t be paired to the phone. The battery widget is to show the main device and any paired devices for the device, such as Airpods Pro, PowerBeats Pro etc.

Yeah, I know. I was hoping they could do it via iCloud, though. It would be useful for me.
