Right now I have only 1 minidisplay port, and would like to run 2 24" Apple Cinemas. Can I buy a ATI Radeon HD 5770 for my 2009 2.66 Mac Pro? I was thinking of getting one more GT 120, but it is about the same price as a ATI Radeon HD 5770 which has 2 mini display ports. Thanks!

as long as its the apple one, and not one from like bestbuy, yes you can use the 5770 with no problems.

The apple one has a black plastic around it and looks way cooler, right?

Is this the best way to power 2 x 24" LED Apple Cinemas for my 2009 2.66 Quad MP? Or are there any advantages to having a second GT 120 or something else in my MP?

the mac one looks like a stock 5770 (black and red) but just because it looks that way doesnt mean its the mac one. you have to buy it from apple either on the online apple store or possibly at a retail apple store. the gt120 is a substantially slower card, and although you can technically put in more than one, in osx there is no benefit to having multiple graphics cards aside from running more monitors. in windows for instance you can link multiple cards together for faster graphics performance.

i would get the 5770. you'll be able to run all monitors from a single card (and even a 3rd if you want it) and it will be quite a nice upgrade over a gt120
