Can I put a 2008 iMac's Bluetooth card into my 1,1 Mac Pro?

I have a dead 2008 iMac from which I have already taken the Airport card to use in my 1,1 Mac Pro. I just realized, though, that it must have a Bluetooth card that I can remove. (Sure enough, I looked it up and found that the iMac DOES have a removable card.)

Would this card work in my 1,1 Mac Pro? If so, where does it go? I already have the Airport card in, which takes two cables.

The bluetooth card looks similar, at least in shape and appearance. I don't know if it will fit, or if the connector to attach to the logic board is the same.
The bluetooth card socket for your MacPro1,1 is directly under the airport card. There is a single antenna wire for the bluetooth card already in place in your MacPro. It will have a BT label on the wire near the connector.
Note: there may be 4 wireless antenna wires in your MacPro. Your Airport card takes the ones labeled with a 1 & 3. The bluetooth antenna is labeled BT. If you do have a 4th wire labeled "2", that one doesn't get attached to anything. Just leave it loose, maybe tucked out of the way.

Yeah, I noticed the BT wire - it was rather hidden. I think they are similar modules, so I might end up trying it. (I was just looking for feedback before having to disassemble the iMac.)

EDIT: 2008 iMac takes a '2.1 + EDR' module, while the 1,1 Mac Pro takes a '2.0 + EDR' module. It's a little bit hard to compare online... I wonder if anyone here has both Macs or would know if the later BT card could work.

If you are going to run newer OS's you may wish to consider a 94360CD with adapter. In a 1,1 it gives both functions from same card

Like a boss! I think I'll go for it. All it can do is not work, right? I mean, the iMac is sitting here and doing nothing - I might as well try. I posted this thread while I was busy with other stuff, so I'm sure that that was just my attitude at the time.

Well, I don't necessarily need the card ATM, but would like to have the machine capable of Bluetooth, as I enjoy using my original Bluetooth Apple keyboard with my other Bluetooth-capable Macs. Since I'm not so desperate for Bluetooth, I'd just like to use the materials that I already have.

I think I'll just disassemble the iMac when I have time and try out its BT card. I don't think it would necessarily damage the machine - it may just not work.

the USB module on most Macs are Just internal USB devices you can even take a apple BT module of your choosing and make a USB dongle out of it heh (but depending on the module that requires some soldering and work) if the 2008 iMac Module physically fits the Mac pro then it will work (like you said worse case the OS just does not see the device)

Haha - yeah, not that desperate to get BT; I'm gonna try the card sooner or later.
