Did you even think before answering? Or did you just write that without noticing this is the iPhone HACKS forum.
To OP: If you get an iPhone 2G, just download quickpwn, unlock and hactivate phone, and then run the program with your iPhone. There are numerous guides on how to do so. Afterwards, turn off data on your iPhone so that you won't get charge on the sim card, and then stick in your sim card. You should be able to have every feature of an iPhone except surfing the web. (Unless of course, you buy the internet data plan, then don't turn off data).
This works with not only AT&T Sim prepaid but also T-Mobile Prepaid
