Can I put an iPad SIM into an iPhone 3GS (Yes, I know I need an adapter) and use the iPhone as an iPod Touch with data?

I had an iPhone 3GS. It had a standard mini-SIM (as opposed to the new micro-SIM size in the iPhone 4). What sized SIM does the iPad take then?

Micro-sim I believe.

Anyways, my question isnt regarding the sim sizes whether it will fit or not. I just want to know if I can put the SIM in my iPhone and walk away using the data, or what I need to be able to do that.

Yes, I believe you can. Just get yourself an adapter and stick it in. :)

I activated my iPhone with my iPad sim, it worked fine and went on wifi happily iirc.
