Can I reduce the size of the date in today view?

Not without a jailbreak tweak of some sort that might allow for it.

I really would like to either remove it or reduce this huge size of the day and date in the Notification Center as well. It's really taking up so much space on both iPhone and iPad.

It bugs me that you cannot change this without jailbreaking. Apple please give us the option to turn it off or at least reduce the size of it. I would rather see my widgets. I know what day it is and I also have a calendar for that.

I believe that's iOS 9 vs iOS 10.

You're in Australia. Everything's the opposite of North America there

Scroll it up until the date is not visible. In fact, the scrolling gets sorta "sticky" there, as if the OS knows you want to not see the date. Now when you access the widgets the date will not be visible anymore.

Me too. An option for short date format (5/1/2017) would be nice.

Some languages like Japanese already show it as one line.
