Can I remove grey home screen bar iOS 7 iPhone 5

Hi, I've just downloaded the iOS 7 software to my iPhone 5. I'm liking most of it so far but can't stand the big grey bar at the bottom of my home screen.

Does anyone know if there is a way to remove it or make it transparent.

on the 5, it should be transparent by default.

if its not, go to settings > geveral > accessibility > increase contrast = off

Same problem as pip, but solution didn't work. Increase contrast was off by default, but the grey bar remains.
Any help?

I had the same problem on my iPhone 4. It's so annoying. Have sent them a feedback. I hope it helps.
