I have a 17" mac book pro and I am new to the whole mac architecture and stuff. I bought it refurbed from apple about 6 months ago. I was wondering if I have a 64 bit processor or 32. I heard something about yonah and merom and I didn't know exactly what they meant; let alone which i have. Just wondering if I could run Leopard when it comes out. Thanks!

Taylor

yes you will be able to run it, it has both 32bit and 64bit versions on one disk, so your computer will run it whether it is a 32bit computer or 64bit. if you want to know whether yours is 32 or 64bit is it a CD or C2D the CD are 32bit and the C2D are 64.

okay cool on the Leopard part. I appreciate you answering. As far as what processor i have, i'm not sure where to look for to find out whether i have CD or C2D. In the "about this mac" section it just says 2.16 intel core duo. I guess that would mean CD and not C2D...:(
