I've safely restored from an iTunes backup, how would this be any different?Short answer is you can't.
But this is my guess. If you do so, you might brick your device.
Because iCloud backup is always encrypted and you could not change anything about that backup as you like as a local backup.I've safely restored from an iTunes backup, how would this be any different?
Maybe I worded that wrong, how do I get all of my info from my old phone to my new phone?Because iCloud backup is always encrypted and you could not change anything about that backup as you like as a local backup.
Do an iTunes backup? Or jailbreak your new phone too and use various tools in Cydia to copy data into your phone? I have no idea.Maybe I worded that wrong, how do I get all of my info from my old phone to my new phone?
Doing an iTunes restore from backup won't be a full restore?Do an iTunes backup? Or jailbreak your new phone too and use various tools in Cydia to copy data into your phone? I have no idea.
If your iTunes backup is encrypted, then it could be treated as a full backup.Doing an iTunes restore from backup won't be a full restore?
I did the iTunes restore from backup and it worked, my phone still says its on 10.2 and Cydia is still on there but when I open it it crashes immediately. Should I re-jailbreak?If your iTunes backup is encrypted, then it could be treated as a full backup.
From someone's post, if you encounter this, you are likely out of luck and forced to use the latest firmware.I did the iTunes restore from backup and it worked, my phone still says its on 10.2 and Cydia is still on there but when I open it it crashes immediately. Should I re-jailbreak?
Re-jailbroke, I'm good! From someone's post, if you encounter this, you are likely out of luck and forced to use the latest firmware.
But you could try to re-jailbreak. It won't hurt anything after all.
