In the Apple TV app on my Mac I have a number of my video files in the library area for quick access (several hundred) but when I go to search in the search bar I immediately get taken to what Apple has for download (and purchase).

I don’t understand why I can’t search my content first or exclusively.

Is it possible to find what I have in the library section?

I am currently using Big Sur, but I had the same experience in Catalina.

Thanks in advance!

With the TV app for macOS the search bar on the tool bar will search the content on the "Store/Apple TV +" content. in order to search for media you have added to the TV app you can do this two ways:

  1. View > Show Filter Field (this will then open a second search field this will only search media you have added to the app)
  2. Press CMD + Alt Option + F > this will then open the same menu
Now within the "Filer" search bar type in the item you're looking for.

This is a little stupid since the "Music" app when you type into the search bar it gives you an option of you want to search Apple Music or Your Library it would be nice if Apple added the same search across there apps.
