Can I see 2K (1440p) on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s Plus?

Now I can see that when I see a video on YouTube on the defenitions specs I can select 1440p, but Apple never announce that you can see 2K (1440p) on your iPad Air 2 or iPhone 6s Plus, so, can I really see 1440p on this devices?

The specs for iPad Air 2 suggest not.

The specs for the iPhone 6s Plus say it plays back up to 4K. No surprise as it does record 4K.
