Can I still return it?

Hey guys, I just bought my first mac and so far im loving it. However, I bought the 2.16ghz instead of the 2.33ghz with the better graphics card. I do like to game quite abit and I'm thinking I made a mistake. I bought mine on Saturday and I've been downloading and using this one, will they still let me return it if I upgrade?

I could also just stick with this one and upgrade my RAM, but I need some advice. Thanks.

Is yours a stock configuration or a built to order machine?

If it is the stock configuration (ie: 1gb of ram, 120gb of hard disk) you can pay the 10% penalty and return it, then upgrade it later.

Depends where you bought it from, but most places will allow you to return it if can return it to it's original state...expect to pay a restocking charge of at least 15% though, so it might not be worth it to return it.

I bought it at an apple store in Tampa. If I reload the original OSX program that the computer came with will it restore it to its original settings?

However, if there's a 15% restocking fee+ the extra $500 for the upgrade it doesn't really seem worth it. Would I be better just upgrading the RAM? or is the better model really worth the trouble?

The squeaky wheel gets the oil...you can return anything with a little squeak. I am planning on campaigning for a c2d after my cd has been so dissapointing for so long. I use my laptop for school and for business so i have been unable to send it in for repair. There are so many problems as well that I think a simple repair may not be enough. Display contrast/brightness, ac whine, terrible build quality. A 3000 dollar laptop should be the best there is, like some of the current models. Not the subpar quality i have.

I don't think you have to run the install disc, just take all of your stuff off of there and you should be fine unless you deleted an application or something. And iW00t is probably right, it might be just 10%. Still a lot of money.

I don't game much, so I can't really tell you what would be best in that regard.

Hmmm....so if it's even 10% that's still like 200$+the extra $500 or so for the upgrade. $700 just for a slightly better processor and graphics card doesn't really seem worth it.

er... where did you get your little sense of entitlement?

what makes you think your problem(s) deserve a replacement? esp i presume you have never had it repaired?

you'd be lucky to even get those problem repaired. apple would claim those are within specs and might not even repair those problems.

i think that that is the rifght decission, dont upgrade it isnt worth it for you at this point

If you really want to get rid of it, ebay it. Apple tends to hold their value a little better then your PC.

Unless the machine's DOA, Apple will charge you a restocking fee for opened items.
