Could anyone please tell me if I am able to remove the second 500gb HDD from my 2014 i5 MM and put it into my 2020 M1 MM? I don't know anything about internal hardware, so I'm wondering if the cables and/or connectors are compatible to facilitate this?

Cheers.

Not unless you put it in an external enclosure, then connect it to one of the USB ports. The internal storage on Apple Silicon Mac minis is not upgradable.

What form factor is the SSD from the 2014 Mini?

Was it "factory installed" ? (I'm thinking that if it was, it may be in the form of an Apple proprietary "blade SSD". You may have trouble finding an external enclosure for it.)
I could be wrong about this -- I welcome correction from other forum members.

Or... was it a 2.5" SATA SSD ? (In that case, a USB3.1 gen2 enclosure is cheap and available).

You won't have "the answer" until you know the above info...

Thank you for the extra information @Fishrrman, though @russell_314 did provide me an answer to my question, which specifically asked whether I could put the secondary 500gb secondary drive from my 2014 unit 'INTO' my 2020 unit. You have also verified that answer through the absence of any extra information around the possibility of putting the drive inside the 2020 unit. I'm grateful for your response, thank you so much :)
