We got an iPad for my mom so she can FaceTime with family and friends through the pandemic. She has no smart phone, only the iPad.

Can she receive text and photo messages on the iPad sent from someone else using an IOS device but AppleID only?

Please only respond if you have a definitive answer or are asking for more details. Please no answers of “I think” or “maybe”

She is in her 90’s and I provide tech support by wearing gloves and masks. She is doing fine with FaceTime but I can’t be standing around trying something that just won’t work. It gets her frustrated and she is stressed out enough without me trying something that may or may not work.

Thanks so much for the support, I really appreciate it.

As long as she has WiFi and both people are using Apple Messages, yes.
I do this with my dad now.
