Can I transfer contact & calendar detail from iPad to new iMac?

Will I be able to do that ok or will iTunes erase them from my iPad on first sync?

I realise I will lose my music but I'm ok with that as I'm going to start a new iTunes library.

Also if anyone one knows will my apps on my iPad be transferred to iMac or will they be erased?
