Can I turn on Wi-Fi and share Itunes w/o a router?

Follow me here, can I activate the Wi-Fi in Mac Mini and make it available for my iPhone to see it via the Remote app?

I'd like to run an out for my Mac Mini into my stereo but I do not have an internet connection in this particular location and wireless internet is not an option.

My goal is to share iTunes through the Mac Mini via Wi-Fi with no router in the network and no internet available.

You can create a network by click the AirPort icon in the menu bar and clicking "Create Network." Then your other devices can connect to that.
