Question.

I have the Original 2G iPhone and now want to upgrade to the 3GS and sell my 2G (unlocked) online.

If I purchase the new 3GS first and activate with my iTunes, then try to unlock the 2G phone, will I have any issues? Will this work?

Or

Do I have to unlock the 2G first using my iTunes, sell it, then buy and synch the new 3GS with my iTunes?

Just not sure if there is a set way to do this...thanks!!

Unlock has nothing to do with AT&T, therefore you should be able to buy to do so either way. I would recommend buying the 3GS then selling the original iPhone, incase there are problems with the 3GS. In addition, unlocking basically requires hacktivating, so either way, it's the same.

So, there will be no issues hacking the 2G after I already purchase the 3GS and synch with my iTunes? I wasn't sure if iTunes would allow me to hack the 2G if I have already synched the new 3GS...or does it even care?
