can I upgrade 3.0 --> 3.1.2 without losing my jailbreak and its apps?
i used to have 3.1.2, but i downgraded to 3.0 so i can tether, but i found this app called mywi that does it with 3.1.2. so now i want to go back to 3.1.2 without losing my jailbroken things.

No. You'll have to reinstall all your jailbreak apps after you update and rejailbreak. But there are apps like PkgBackup and AptBackup that might make the process somewhat easier.

I strongly recommend PkgBackup. It's not free, but it is worth every penny. And because it stores its backup in your address book, it even works if you set up as a new phone. Love it.
