I have a 2013 Macbook Air 13" (i5, 4GB). The MacBook Air's design seems to have stayed pretty much the same from 2012-2017, so I was wondering if there was anything preventing me from purchasing a fully-specced 2017 motherboard off of eBay with all the components on it and replacing the current one with it.

As long as all the ports line up the same, I don’t see why you couldn’t do it. Screen connector would be another thing to look at.

All parts from the mid-2013 to 2017 Air are completely interchangeable.
Good to know. Is the only thing that is keeping the 2010 - Airs from also being compatible the Magsafe connector and microphones? Or are there other things?
