It doesn't have periods and commas. I dislike having to flip to different screens to get them. Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance.

Commas and periods from the first page.

I downloaded the Google Android keyboard but I haven't been able to figure out how or if I can make that my default keyboard. This is my first iPhone. I purchased the mini because I prefer a smaller, lighter, phone in my pocket.

Switch keyboards with the globe icon. You might need to allow full access in Settings/ General/ Keyboard/ Keyboards then select the Google one. I thought about the Google keyboard but since any keyboard is able to record keystrokes I didn't feel comfortable with that.

That's to set full access. It opens whatever keyboard you had open last. Use the globe icon to switch between them till you get the Google one.
Thanks. Am I correct that I will have to click on the globe icon every time I want to use the other keyboard to text someone?

I don't. Are you just going to Messages then clicking the text message for the person you want to text? It just stays whatever one I had

Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. Then press the ‘Edit’ button on the top right corner. You will then be able to drag on the list of keyboards (using the the horizon lines) to the arrangement you prefer. The one on top should be the default one.

On another note, my initial impression of iPhone is that the Samsung Galaxy is MUCH more user-friendly.

I never knew this. Is it supposed to default to the top keyboard? Mine just sticks with whatever keyboard I used last 🤷‍♂️

I think that’s because you’re used to the Samsung. I haven’t used android in a while so when I have to do something on my friends Note 9 It takes me a little bit to figure out what to do. Now if you mean by user friendly as in customizable oh yeah android is in a different category. There’s so many different things you can change on android that you can’t on iPhone.
