Hi, I am using a Mac Mini late 2014 with Core i5 2.6Ghz Processor, 8GB 1600MHz Ram. After upgrading the hard disc to SSD, I am thinking about upgrading RAM to 16GB as well.

My question is, can I use RAM faster than 1600MHz, like a 2400MHz? I find that their prices are not much different but I worry that I may not be able to use them at all.

Thank you,
Thang

That RAM on a late 2014 Mac mini is soldered in!

You cannot upgrade that memory. :(

However, you are in good shape with an 8GB mini. With that fast i5 processor and an SSD that 8GB mini should be fine for most any task that you want to give it.

The only thing you will not be able to do is boast of your maxed out RAM. ;)

Holy sh*t you are right! I just take a look at iFixit website and they don't have RAM option for my model.

Thanks for your input. I guess I can live in peace knowing my Mac Mini is at its peak now :)
