Hello guys,

Does anyone know if i can upgrade from 2x2 to say 2x4GB RAM? I've got the 2008 Imac 24" with DDR2 RAM. I've heard that even if i had found additional DDR2 memory from other makes it wouldn't have worked because some AITEK Controller in the 24" Imac wouldn't allow the additional memory to function.
Why upgrading? because working with large psd files gradually becomes unbearable.

Thanks for the advice......Methinks it's inevitable to upgrade to i5 or i7, isn't?

Oh, thanks.....i see :(, that is, one may presuppose that the same situation would be with i5 or i7 once the DDR4 has arrived, that is, you wont be able to upgrade either and all the apps like Photoshop will be choking at 8GB in two years time (because a standard would be 16gbDDR4) due to some new features that demand more and more memory. Great...every 2 years a new Imac :(
