I have 3.0 on a 3GS (downgraded from 3.1.2, so i have the 3.1 baseband) and I want to upgrade to 3.0.1 since that's the highest I can go without losing free tethering. Can I just click shift and restore to the 3.0.1 ispw or is it more complicated than that?

Are you jailbroken, do you want to be jailbroken on 3.0.1 ?

iTunes will not allow a 3GS to be updated to official 3.0.1 firmware as Apple quit signing those for the 3GS. If you want to go to 3.0.1, you will need to JB to it.

If your phone is running as you want it on 3.0, the other poster is correct, there is no reason to go to 3.0.1
