Hey there! I'm just wondering, is it possible to add a PC 5700 XT GPU to a Mac Pro 7,1 to run side-by-side with its original MPX W5700X and increase the GPU power? I have a 5700 XT laying around that's no longer in use, and I'm wondering if it would increase the graphics power of a 7,1 or if it would just sit there inside the Mac Pro being useless. I primarily use DaVinci Resolve Studio for the work that I do.

Should help answer your question.
I actually don't see anything there about using a regular PC graphics card in addition to an MPX module graphics card.

I hope since the W5700X MPX module and the 5700 XT PCIe graphics card share the same architecture, that I could use both together and increase performance in DaVinci Resolve.

Anyone running PC GPUs side-by-side with their Apple MPX GPUs? Are there any conflicts? Or does it just work?

I had a Sonnetech 6900XT working just fine along side 2x 6800XT Duo's so I think you'll be fine. Presuming your MPX takes up slots 1&2 just add the extra card to slot 3 and just the Belkin cables for power.

I've been running a Radeon VII alongside an AMD Radeon Pro 580X that came with the machine for the past two years with no problem until tonight when I doing some rendering in Blender and the machine froze and shutdown. Trying to figure out what to replace with the 580x with now, seems like 6800xt.
