can i use an oange contract sim with the original i-phone?

Hey all,

I have found an original i-phone and want to unlock it to use an orange contract sim card in it. Does anyone know how to go about this and maybe any tips on how to do it? I am a uk resident.

I dont want to go to O2 as i have been an orange customer for over ten years and get amazing deals with them. so any help would be greatly appreciated
