I have an iMac 2010 27" that I'm using in target display mode to play on my gaming pc. I want to use my external speakers attached via an apogee duet to my Mac for the sound but i can only get sound from it to come out through the iMacs internal speakers when it's in target mode. When I change it to the duet on the Mac it just changes it back to internal once I enter target mode.

I'm thinking there has to be a way to route the signal to the duet and stop it automatically switching to the built in?
If not is there no way at least to stop it from automatically switching to the internal speakers in target mode so that I could still play music through the Mac using the setup I have?

The duet only works on Mac via USB, there's a work around for it to half work on windows but the nob and visuals don't work so it's not really ideal.
