Before I continue my subscription, I have been trying (in vain) to find out if I can simply have Apple Music on my iPhone without ANY of my local music from my mac. I just cannot seem to find a way to remove all the old stuff and concentrate on just the streaming service. I dont WANT the thousands of songs from my 15yr old music library clogging things up. I just want to be able to search for what I want to listen to at any given moment without the clutter of past playlists and albums.

Any idea if this is possible?

U cannot have Apple music NOT on other devices, since its tied to AppleID u sign in to itunes. Don't turn on 'icloud library" on other devices u don't want to see playlist on and it would be ok..

But not having access to Apple music at all ? that's not possible.

Thanks.

Not sure I understand. I have turned off iCloud library on my mac, but now want it to forget all the music tracks from there. I just want to run it like I did spotify where I picked from their library rather than worry about the old stuff I have from before.

All the old stuff is still there.
