My problem is that I have a MacBook Pro 1.1 which maxs at 2GB. I need a minimum of 4GB. Ideally 6-8. I don't have the money for a new 6GB MacBook Pro so I am thinking of purchasing a 2GB Mac Mini (Upgrading the RAM to 4GB) and using my MacBook as the screen.

Questions...
Is this possible? Seems so.

Is it possible to link the mac mini to my MacBook Pro, not just as the screen, but sharing snow leopard and my software so that I can take my laptop on the go even though I would not have quite the same RAM?

Is it possible to share/add the RAM together (Mac Mini 4 + MacBook 2= 6GB)???

Are there any other creative solutions on how to solve my RAM deficiency syndrome?

Thank you for your help

To my knowledge the MBP doesn't have video in, only video out, so you'd have to get some sort of 3rd party dongle like EyeTV. Not the most elegant of solutions, or cheap. You are better off buying an inexpensive monitor. If you've outgrown the MBP sell it while you can still get $ for it.

You can use something like Apple's Remote Desktop to control the Mini, but there's no way to plug the Mini into the MBP to use it as a video display.

There's no way to combine two system's memory nor is there a way to share the software, short of violating the EULA's, unless you buy licenses for both machines.
