Can I use my iphone 4 charger on my iPad?

Does it work? I just plugged in and it says it's charging, but I wanted to make sure.

Yes, but it may charge slower than normal.

I travel a lot with work, and my iphone 4 charger works fine with both my iphone 4 and my iPad. It may charge slower, but if you leave it overnight its no problem at all.
