The MBP's a late '08 15" unibody. I know I obviously can't (or at least shouldn't) use the Airs power supply with the MBP.

Really? I assumed the MBP had a more powerful PSU so the MBA charger wouldn't be sufficient?

It does have a more powerful PSU, but the MacBook Air charger can be used; it just may not charge the laptop as quickly as the original one would.

Most likely you will be able to charge the laptop when it's off, or keep it at a steady charge when it's on. You almost certainly will not be able to use it and charge it at the same time.

Using my MBA power supply to charge my MBP right now...played a couple games and the charger didn't keep up so the charge light turned amber, but as soon as I stopped gaming it charged up to full and turned green again.
