Quick response

Thanks man. This forum is quick. I will enjoy programming for the Iphone and Ipad.

The iPad is NOT a computer.

What?! The iPad is certainly a computer, a far more powerful computer than the 68K and early PPC Macs that were typically used for running Apple's MPW workbench and Metrowerks C. Those, sometimes much less powerful computers than an iPhone, allowed programs to be developed on themselves for themselves. In fact an iPad can often do more with just Javascript than a Mac SE/30 could do with native compiled C code.

However the iPad's UI hasn't (yet) been optimized for software development tools, and App store rules don't (yet) encourage such development.

However you can use a VNC or RDP app on the iPad to run Xcode remotely on a Mac.

Thanks firewood for clearing the air on computers being able to create apps for them selves. iLoveDeveloping maybe we could stay positive next time answering peoples questions. One love my bredrin!

Apple has stated, on their devforums, that we should not hold our breath on having Xcode ported to the iPhone OS. So, that approach is out for the foreseeable future.
