I think you can have 2 30" monitors with Radeon 5770. Though if you connect the other monitor to the mini-display port using a passive adaptor, you maximum resolution is just 1280x800 . I have one 30" monitor and try connecting it to the mini-display port using a passive adaptor and the maximum resolution is only 1280x800. Here is a related link http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3571

One solutiion as people are saying though I have not tried this is to buy an active adaptor lke this one: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dvi-adapter?fnode=53

Yes; I run three on a single 5770. If they are DVI monitors, such as the Apple 30", you will need two active DisplayPort->dual-link DVI adapters, as mentioned above.

Correct. I have two 30" LP3065 monitors and I don't like this "active" apple DVI adaptor that is necessary when using the 5770. That's why I'm shopping for a card that has two DVI-D outputs.

The Apple MDP->DVI adaptor can be problematic with non-Apple displays & full support is only claimed when used with an Apple Cinema Display. 3rd-party adapters may be more reliable.
