I need to extend the range of my wirelss network so I can pick up wifi in our bedroom (so I can use my iPhone).

If I switched to wireless n will they work with our two iMacs? One is brand new the other 3 years old.

Will my iPhone work???

n is faster, but does not reach as far as g signals. The iPhone does not work with n signals.

Not sure where you got your information, but everything I have read says that wireless n has about 3 times the range of g. See the wiki article.

To the OP, get the new simultaneous dual-band airport extreme.

yeah i had the same dilemma.

we have a PS3 in the house, and my iPhone.

so i ran a linksys wireless G 2.4GHz network, and had airport express connected to one of it's LAN ports.... then set the airport express to send only 802.11n out at 5GHz.

after all this i found out we were downgraded with a new bundle to 1.5MB/s internet...

sooo i was getting the same speed from the linksys 802.11g as i was plugged directly in via ethernet.

made no sense to run both.
