Could iBooks also contain video elements? I know they use epub format, but as far as I know that is based off of older HTML and as such HTML 5 won't work (we'll ignore flash as an option eh?)

It's been done with video and Flash but it is very dependent on how it's being viewed. It's been tested with Adobe Digital Editions. I tried it with Calibre and it didn't work. I get the player but nothing happens.
