If I take photos/videos on my iPhone, and iCloud backs them up automatically into the cloud.. can I log into my iCloud account on my MacBook Air and access them there so that I can download them into my laptop? Or do I still have to e-mail them individually to myself if I chose to wirelessly get these pics/videos on my computer?

Also, suppose I reset my iPhone.. how do I restore an iCloud backup? Does it let me pick a backup date or does it just let me do the most recent backup onto my iPhone?

Your photo stream is available in iPhoto. So every time iPhoto is launched, it'll download every picture you've taken with you iPhone from iCloud.

As for the iCloud backup, when you reset your iPhone, there will be an onscreen setup and there will be an option to restore from an iCloud backup. It'll use the most recent backup.

How do photos/videos from my iPhone become wirelessly available in iPhoto? I only see a way to connect it to a MobileMe account not iCloud.

Make sure you have installed the Mac OSX Lion 10.7.2 update, and the iPhoto 9.2 update.

I do have 10.7.2 and this is a new MacBook Air. iPhoto is 9.1.5 but it says there's no new updates. How do I go about doing this?

1) iCloud needs to be setup in System Prefs. 10.7.2 added this.

2) I had the same problem with iPhoto. In short I had to reinstall iLife 11 from CD. Update to iPhoto 9.1 then 9.2 will show up in the auto update. I saved off the other apps from Ilife into a diff folder and then moved them back so I would not need to update the entire iLife. Worked fine. It seems that iPhoto 9.1.5 will not update to 9.2.

I made a post about it it is the last one. maybe I should have made it into a thread. -

Thanks, I'll look for it and let you know. Will photostream on iPhoto show us the videos from our iPhone's camera roll as well?

i haven't been able to get this to work. it looks like icloud will only stream new pictures that you have taken, not the ones already in your camera roll.

iPhoto can be updated via the Mac App Store if you have the latest iLife version, for those of you asking.

This is correct. Only photos taken on a device with iCloud and Photo Stream enabled will show up in your Photo Stream. However, you can get all of the photos on your devices to be consistent by syncing with a cable.

I was able to update iPhoto from the Mac App Store.

Actually, I tried it out on my iPod touch and it asks what backup you'd like to restore from.
