I know with the coming of iPAD OS. Two instances of same APP can be run side by side but does that include even Video also ? Can two Instances of Videos be played side by side in iPad OS/iOS 13 ? Like two different videos playing side by side ?

YouTube videos or other videos?

Nope, it's still the same. Nothing has changed in regards to audio/video ins and outs for iOS 13/iPadOS... you can't play audio/video simultaneously.

But why ? I believe you can have two same apps running side by side at the same time right ? So why not videos ??

Videos saved in your device ? Infact in both the cases. With YouTube and also videos stored/saved on your device.

Not the most elegant solution but you can watch up to 6 videos simultaneously if you import them into Luma fusion

The easiest answer would be because of the audio- The iPad wouldn’t be able to play audio from both sources simultaneously.

Ok I’ll be the one to ask- Why would you want to do this?

I see that is an interesting reasoning. Why would I want to do it ? Well let's say I am thinking about buying a nice looking tshirt and I wanna see different designs with two models wearing it and if there is a video where two models are wearing it I can play them simultaneoulsy and decide which one looks better. That's why !!

This response is so niche lol. OP if you have enough time to think of inanity like this, you have enough time to compare both shirts separately.

Nope. Just tested it on Safari in split view, if you play one video it will pause the other video. Same behavior for slide over for music as well. I guess it can’t support multiple audio streams from different sources at the same time

If true thats just another leg up that Windows 95 has over ipadOS :p I hope they start lifting these restrictions soon.

Yep, the key is the audio, you can play two youtube video side by side (Edit. In Safari) if you mute them and Watch third one with sound in pip.

So if you play two YouTube videos in Safari side by side with the Audio On, The Video gets paused ?

Two iPads side by side.

You're welcome.

I too want to play 2 videos side by side on an iPad. Why? - well I do training for presentation skills and at the end of the day, I play a before and after comparison to show progress. These are played mute since it is body language we're looking at, so audio is not an issue. I can do this in the QT player on my MBP. If Apple truly want to standardise the user experience across all platforms, why decide to do this on a laptop/desktop but not iPad, particularly if they are touting iPad as a laptop replacement? I want to replace my 10 year-old MBP 17" with something as small and light as possible, so iPad may be in the running if I can do this, otherwise it's an MB Air.

I use FileBrowser for Business as an alternative for the Files App. It can play two different video files side by side with ease. Even plays the audio for both.
