Can iPhone 13 use an eSim while the midi uses the physical sim

I have a free phone line which we use on a Mifi device. Can that be used on another phone as an eSim on sometimes while the physical SIM is still being used on the mifi sometimes? As long as they are not used at the same time?

Nope that’s not how that works. When you active esim that sim would no longer be active. And to activate a sim again you’d need a new sim and contact your carrier each time you wanted to go back and fourth
