I do light research a few months of the year. Heard that running Windows on the rMB12 was out of the question because it can't handle it. But will it run the mac versions of SPSS and Stata?

There are multiple threads here about running Windows 10 on the rMB and it seems to run great. Otherwise, there is always Parrallells which lets you run Windows alongside OS X (Virtual Machine).

I use SPSS for clinical research and it works just fine. The database I work with had over a million patients with 50+ variables for each and I run some basic statistics and it works great.

I don't run Windows, but I do quite a lot of heavy statistical analysis in R on my base model rMB without any issues.

I don't use SPSS and STATA but it performs horribly slow when I use Matlab, especially value function iteration.
